Pathos Theatre will present “boom” by Peter Sinn Nactrieb this Monday-Wednesday, March 28-30, at the University of Central Florida.

What’s it about, you ask? Did the headline give a clue?

Jo, a female journalism student, and Jules, a male marine biologist, meet in a subterranean biology lab for an erotic “casual encounter.” But there’s nothing casual whatsoever about this particular evening. Will meaningless sex have meaning? What’s going on in the fish tank? And who is that woman pulling levers in the corner? An epic and intimate comedy that spans over billions of years, “boom” explores the influences of fate verses randomness in the course of one’s life.

Nathaniel Beaver is directing, with Tiffany Lyn Meadows as stage manager. The cast includes: Krista Amico as Barbara, Tym Claude as Jules and Linda Farmer as Jo.

Performances are at UCF Conservatory Theatre, black-box stage, on campus in east Orange County off Alafaya Trail and University Boulevard.

Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (March 28-30). $5 suggested donation for tickets, cash or check only at door. Make a reservation by calling the Pathos Theatre box office at 773-236-BOOM or email PathosTheatre@gmail.com.
